How did your interest in underwear begin, and what was the first pair that really caught your attention?
It was when I was quite young. As a kid I remember ripping apart old holey boxer briefs so they were just a waistband and a piece of fabric front and back, imagining is was wearing a loin cloth. In high school I jot a jock strap and cup for football (I’d been playing for 7/8 years but I never wore a jock before that) through a complicated set of events the coaches and other players found it with out knowing it was mine and all laughter about it because no one else wore jocks but I wish I’d claimed it and kept it.

What styles of underwear did you wear during your college years, and do you still prefer those same styles today?
I mostly wore boxer briefs. That’s still the plurality of what I wear. I got a pack of black Calvin Klein trunks in college and that I loved and still have a couple of now. I started wearing other styles right after college.

What are your all-time favorite underwear brands, and what makes them stand out for you?
I don’t think I’ve ever gone wrong with a pair of Calvin’s. They’re consistent and classic. I also like 2(X)ist a lot for their fun variety and reliable quality for a reasonable price.

How important is the fabric or material in your underwear choices, and which one do you love the most (e.g., cotton, mesh, silk)?
It’s not the biggest thing for me. The only time it matters is when I’m running/exercising and I need something breathable and non-chaffing.

What's your take on underwear etiquette - should it match your outfit, or is comfort more important?
I think about underwear as much as I do the rest of my outfit. 90% of the time it matches my outfit. I think about cut, color, and material depending on what my day is like. Sometimes in a complimentary sense and sometimes contrasting if I want to wear a slick brief under grungy work clothes just for fun. Rarely does anyone see them to know but also, the time I do know someone will, I care more about someone never seeing me in the same underwear twice than I do about wearing the same outfit twice.

Do you have a go-to color or pattern for underwear that always makes you feel sexy or confident?
Black. I have all the colors but when in doubt the cool neutrality of black is the default when I’m going for a general “sexiness.”

Have you ever collected underwear from different brands or styles, and what's the story behind your collection?
Most of my collection has been around what’s on sale and what excites me as I scroll through. I don’t really care about a variety of brands except to see if there’s a one I haven’t tried that I really like. My collection is more about a variety of cuts, styles, and colors. I started keeping a list at some point and for a while I was trying to get one of each style in every color.

What's your ideal underwear shopping experience - do you prefer online browsing, in-store trying on, or shopping with a partner?
I do all my underwear shopping online because I’ll spend an hour or two in filling up a cart the going through and parring down to the ones I want most. Thinking about it though I kind of like the idea of and underwear swap meet.

What's the most expensive pair of underwear you've ever bought, and was it worth the investment?
It was probably a pair of BoxMenswear briefs I bought right after college as a sort of “I have a pay check, let me do something fun with it” thing. It wasn’t outrageous but I think they were still only shipping from the uk so the shipping was more expensive. I still have them as some other clothes from them that I still wear ~6 years later.

What's your favorite way to show off or incorporate underwear into intimate moments or play?
I love making out and cuddling so if we do that for hours in our underwear, with or without doing anything else, that’s fine by me. A couple time I’ve had a guy keep a jockstrap on while I topped him which I enjoy. Never bottomed with one on but I’d like to.
